Riello S.p.A. and its branches and subsidiaries (collectively “Riello”) are committed to protecting the privacy of users of this website (“Website”).  

There is no need to register to access the Website. Indeed, users can freely browse the Web Site. However, within the Website, there are sections or services for which it is necessary that users provide Riello with their Personal Information (e.g. users’ Personal Information may be required to access the services of newsletter, contacts form, reserved area, etc.).

For these reasons, it is essential that users understand how Riello collects, uses and, in general, process their Personal Information (as defined below). 

This Privacy Notice provides the Website users with all necessary information regarding processing that Riello carries out regarding the Personal Information collected through the Website.

1.Who is the Controller?

Riello S.p.A., with headquarters in Legnago (VR), Via Ing. Pilade Riello n. 7, Fiscal Code and VAT No. 02641790239, is the Controller.

2.What Personal Information does Riello collect?

Riello only collects the Personal Information indicated below, that is voluntarily provided by users and the relevant navigation data.

There is no need to register to access the Site. Within the Site, however, there are sections, which require users’ registration or the use of username and password, or services for which users are requested to provide Personal Information (e.g. users’ Personal Information may be required to access the services of newsletter, contacts form, reserved area, etc.).

Among the Personal Information that users provide voluntarily, Riello may collect information such as: customer code, name, surname, the company for whom you work,  email address and, log-in details (such as username and password) and any other information that users may deem useful to provide to use the services of the Website.

Among the Personal Data that consists of navigation data, Riello may collect IP addresses, URI-Uniform Resource Identifier- addresses of the requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the numeric code indicating the server’s reply status (successful, error, etc.) and other similar parameters related to users’ operating system and environment). Navigation data involves the users’ operating system and their IT environment. Their communication therefore is implied in the use of Internet communication protocols. This information are not collected for obtaining information on specific natural persons. However, due to their nature, they may allow to identify users if processed and associated with third parties’ data.

3.Why does Riello collect users’ Personal Information?

Personal Information collected on the Website may be used to:

a. provide the services and functionalities of the Website, including information on the products that users have purchased;

b. allow users to access to the Website services through their registration to reserved area;

c. reply to information requests sent by users, by way of example, by email or post or by submitting the online form or in general to requests sent at Riello’s contacts, indicated in the Website, which imply that Riello collect Personal Information such as name, email address, phone number, etc., which are necessary to reply to the users’ requests;

d. subject to the user’s consent, send by Riello and/or companies of the Riello Group of marketing communications such as, by way of example, customer satisfaction surveys, newsletters, advertisement of new products, promotions;

e. protect against fraud or investigate suspected or actual illegal activity or to ensure compliance with, and comply with, legal obligations;

f. screen against sanctions and antiterrorism lists as required by  law;

g. respond to a legitimate legal request from law enforcement authorities or other government regulators;

h. if the user is applying for a job, evaluate the user’s interest in and/or allow the user to apply for employment with Riello (in this respect, please refer to the Privacy Policy for Careers at the following link of the Website 

Regarding the use of Personal Information which requires the users’ explicit consent (see the above letter d)), users can unsubscribe at any time when they receive a communication, by clicking on the link at the bottom of the communication or by contacting Riello at the following contact details

Riello uses as a third parties cookie Google Analytics for statistical and marketing purposes. Riello however uses such Personal Information as anonymous information. Such information are indeed used for statistical purposes and they do not identify users, but they only verify that the Website correctly performs and are immediately cancelled after their process. 

4.What happens if the user does not provide his/her consent?

Giving Personal Information is in general optional.

However, the failure to provide Personal Information for the purposes listed at the above points from letter a) to letter c) and from letter e) to letter h) of Art. 3 will make it impossible for Riello to let users access to the reserved area of the Website and to provide services and/or what users may have requested.

For the purposes listed at letter d) of the above Art. 3, Riello requires the explicit consent by the user. Should the user not give the consent, Riello will no longer use the user’s Personal Information to contact the user for such purposes.

Please note that if the user unsubscribes from marketing communications, the user may continue to access the Website and to receive communications about the account. 

Except where used in support of a contract with the user or to fulfill a legal obligation, Riello’s use of the users’ Personal Information will be only for legitimate business interests.

5.How does Riello collect Personal Information?

Riello processes Personal Information performing the following operations or set of operations: collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction.

Such operations may be performed on paper or through automated means for the period that is strictly required for performing the purposes for which the process is carried out (see Articles No. 3 e 8).

6.How does Riello secure Personal Information?

Riello is committed to ensuring the security and integrity of Personal Information. To this end, Riello has adopted reasonable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard Personal Information of users to avoid Personal Information loss, or their incorrect or unlawful use and non-authorized accesses.

However, due to the nature of Internet communications, we cannot guarantee or warrant that the transmission of Personal Data to Riello is secure, where external factors occur.

Even if Riello can help users to protect their Personal Information, each user is responsible for the protection of her/his log-in details to access to reserved area.

7.Where is Personal Information stored and/or transferred to?

Riello will store users’ Personal Information on internal secure server, owned by Riello.

The processing of Personal Information therefore takes place at Riello’s registered offices and such information is kept under control by technical staff of the department, which is in charge of the processing. Individuals, which have been previously authorized, may also access to Personal Information for the purposes of maintenance only.  

Because Riello, and its parent company, United Technologies Corporation (“UTC”), are global companies with locations in many different countries, we may transfer your information from one legal entity to another or from one country to another within the Riello and UTC group of companies in order to accomplish the purposes listed above. These countries include, at a minimum, the United States, the member states of the European Union, Canada, and other countries, including some in Asia. We will transfer your Personal Information consistent with applicable legal requirements and only to the extent necessary for the purposes set out above.  Within the UTC and Riello group of companies, information is transferred subject to the Binding Corporate Rules.

Riello relies on available legal mechanisms to enable the legal transfer of personal information across borders. To the extent that CCS relies on the standard contractual clauses (also called the model clauses) or Binding Corporate Rules to authorize transfer, Riello will comply with those requirements, including where there may be a conflict between those requirements and this Privacy Notice.


8.How long do Riello keep users’ Personal Information?

The Personal Information provided to Riello is only kept for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected as indicated at the above Art. 3, taking into account Riello’s need to comply with contractual obligations, resolve customer service issues, comply with legal requirements and provide new or improved services to users. 

This means that, after users stopped using the Website, Riello may retain users’ Personal Information for a reasonable period strictly necessary to comply with rule on civil legislation and  on tax and fiscal matters. After this period, the Personal Information will be deleted from all systems of Riello. Regarding purposes of Art. 3, letter d), the user’s Personal Information will be kept for 18 months only..

9.Does Riello share the information it collects?

Riello may share users’ Personal Information with its affiliated companies, such as companies in UTC’s group of companies, and/or companies in which Riello has control, through either direct or indirect ownership for the purposes set out above.

Riello will not sell or otherwise transfer or share users’ Personal Information outside of the companies identified above, except to:

Users’ Personal Information may also be maintained and processed by Riello’s service providers in the United States, the member states of the European Union, Canada, Asia, and in other jurisdictions.

Personal Information are not disclosed, unless is provided by applicable law and/or by orders from judicial/administrative authorities and/or because of investigations on suspected or actual illegal activities.

10.What additional information should specific users know?

The Websites is intended for visitors who are at least 18 years of age, or the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence. Riello does not knowingly solicit information from, or market products or services to, children. 

If the user does not meet the age requirements set out above, please do not enter Personal Information on this Website or any other Riello website or app.

As Riello expands and improves continuously its services, Riello may need to update this Privacy Notice.

For this reason, we encourage users to review this Privacy Notice on a regular basis for any changes.
