COMBUSTION

Another show-piece in the R&D are the activities of Innovation, Simulation, Component and Process Analysis: studies are carried out using state-of-the-art software which allows simulations and mathematical flow controls. These studies, made in collaboration with prestigious Italian Universities, are often published in important international scientific magazines which help to consolidate the prestige and credibility of Riello Burners as it remains a point of reference for many studies in this sector.

3D DESIGN AND FLUID DYNAMICS SIMULATION
The possible design solutions are studied in R&D Department to develop new Combustion heads and Ventilation System to improve Combustion performances relating  to the new Norms and Market trends.

PROTOTYPING

Working in synergy with the research and design activities is the Prototype Laboratory equipped with rapid prototyping cells, Stereo Lithography and silicon vacuum mould systems.
These techniques allow a great deal of time to be saved in producing components for the continuous development of new products for both the residential and industrial areas.

TESTING
Riello are tested in order to improve their Combustion Performance and  to satisfy the demand of OEMs Manufacturers of Boilers,  Generators and Ovens for customized solutions.

COMBUSTION RESEARCH CENTER
Not far from the Center of Excellence we find the Combustion Research Center which was built in the 80’s and tripled in size in 2001 to manage the numerous requests for testing commercial and industrial burners, as well as the continuous demands to carry out matching tests for manufacturers of boilers, generators and ovens.
The Combustion Research Center covers an area of 3,600 sq.m. out of a total 10,000 sq.m. and houses 20 test boilers where products ranging from 10kW to 32MW are tested. There is also a dedicated training area inside the Center with classrooms and four test boilers able to test burners of varying power. During the year this training area is used for numerous refresher courses as well as training courses to present new products.
