The eco-sustainable technologies, besides allowing to reduce the consumption of primary and water energies, also act at the level of reduction of the polluting effect that the materials used in the products generate to the environment during the life of the product and during its disposal, drastically resizing the footprint we leave on our planet.
With this in mind, the refrigerant gases used in air conditioners, composed of complex molecules that have, at the greenhouse effect level, negative effects far greater than those caused by CO2, have for some years been the subject of great regulatory attention due to the damage to the environment that they can cause if released into the atmosphere.
Riello, acting in line with the European reference standards in the air conditioning sector that push the use by industries of refrigerant gases with ever lower GWP (Global Warming Potential - is the ratio between the impact caused by a gas in a given compared to that caused by the same amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the same period, it introduced, before other Competitors, R32 machines in its commercial offer of air conditioners.
At the end of 2019, Riello SpA reached the threshold of over 50,000 Tons of CO2 equivalent certainly not released into the atmosphere, thanks to the adoption since the end of 2017 of a refrigerant gas with a lower environmental impact in its air conditioning systems
The refrigerant gas adopted (R32), despite an increase in the quantity purchased thanks to the sales success of our air conditioners, has a much lower impact on the atmosphere (if released into the environment due to a loss or incorrect installation or to end of product life) compared to the previous one.

Over 50,000 Tons of CO2 not at risk of injection due to the use of R32 refrigerant gas compared to R410a.
To fully understand the importance of this data, if we consider that a medium-sized car releases an average of 0.133 kg of CO2 into the atmosphere per km traveled, the choice of refrigerant gas change has avoided the equivalent pollution produced by 10,000 cars that they travel 37,500km each.
The conscious choice to prevent the risks arising from technological choices from the environment is the effect of the production change taking place in Riello, testifying to a concrete and responsible commitment to respect the environment in which we work and live.
